The movie "I" directed by Shankar and starring Vikram in the lead role, has a spiritual successor titled "Aayirathil Oruvan" which translates to "One in a Thousand". The film was released in 2010 and was directed by Selvaraghavan and starred Karthi and Reem Shaikh in the lead roles.
